The MFRC522 chip is a highly integrated read/write card chip designed for 13.56MHz contactless communication. Developed by NXP, it is a low-voltage, low-cost and compact chip suitable for short-range contactless applications, ideal for smart meters and portable handheld device development.

Adopting advanced modulation and demodulation technology, the chip integrates all mainstream passive contactless communication protocols at 13.56MHz. It supports ISO14443A transponder signals, processes ISO14443A frames and error detection, and supports the CRYPT01 encryption algorithm for MIFARE series chip authentication. It achieves bidirectional transmission speed up to 424 kbit/s. Communicate with main controller via SPI interface, effectively simplify wiring layout, reduce PCB dimension and cut overall costs.
