It can be configured to multiple industry-standard serial and parallel interfaces, including UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG, FIFO and Bit-Bang mode. The chip handles the entire USB protocol internally, no dedicated USB firmware programming required. It supports FTDI royalty-free VCP and D2XX drivers, greatly simplifying PC-side development.
